How to get there – www.travelinescotland.com
In addition to the following information, a map of the venue and its
location within the city can be found at http://www.edinburghfirst.com/edinburghfirst/location.asp
Airport
The airport is about 7 miles out of the city centre, and a taxi directly
to the venue will cost around £20. There is also a shuttle bus which
runs from the airport and costs around £5 return. This bus will
drop you off on Princes Street, by the train station.
Train Station
Waverley train station is about a mile from Edinburgh First, with the
main entrance on the east side of Princes Street. A taxi to the venue
from the train station will cost around £4 - £5 (ask the driver
for the Pollock Halls).
If you walk around the corner from Princes Street onto North Bridge,
you can catch a bus heading south for 80p. Buses that pass by the venue
are the 33, 30, 14 and 86. Ask the driver to tell you when you reach the
Commonwealth swimming pool (the accommodation is right next door to the
pool).
Car
For car journeys, you can use www.multimap.com
to find a map and directions.
Parking
Free parking is available onsite, and a parking pass can be obtained at
reception on arrival. Although there are a fairly large number of parking
spaces, a space cannot be guaranteed if the site is busy and Edinburgh
First are only able to offer parking on a first come first served basis.
Parking attendants will be able to direct you to alternative parking arrangements
(e.g. local NCP car parks) if the site is full.
