One of the major functions of the SRF is to support its members, and the Society would particularly like to encourage more junior members to attend its meetings.
Therefore, for the 2006 Annual Conference, the Society will offer £300 to:
- all conference delegates who are registered for a postgraduate degree (including PhD, MSc or MD);
- all conference delegates who are postdocs of less than 6 years standing and who are presenting data (first author on an abstract).
To claim this support, you need to be a non-statutory member of the Society at the time of the meeting or have your membership application accepted at the AGM. You must also register for and attend both the Tuesday and Wednesday of the conference. You must not have a permanent academic position and your status will need to be confirmed by your supervisor or PI.
If you qualify, you may claim for the 2006 conference even if you received support for the 2005 conference.
How to claim
- If necessary, submit the SRF membership application included in your conference information, complete the online membership application form or contact the SRF Business Office: phone Pat Kitching on 01423 564488
- After the conference, complete and submit the claim
form which you will
find in your conference registration pack. Claims must be submitted
within 1 month of the conference.
