SRF Student Prize (oral presentation): £150Student members of SRF* wishing to be considered for this prize should submit their abstract via the on-line system and indicate that they wish it to be considered for this prize. In addition, authors must also submit a copy of the abstract directly to the SRF Programme Secretary (h.Jabbour@hrsu.mrc.ac.uk) by 01 March 2006. All abstracts put forward for consideration will be scored by a panel of independent referees, and informed by these scores, a short-list of candidates will be drawn up by the SRF Meetings Committee. Short-listed candidates will then be invited to give oral presentations (10 min presentation + 5 mins of questions) in the SRF Student Prize session. A panel of international judges will assess the presentations and the SRF Student Prize 2005 will be presented at the conclusion of the conference on Wednesday 5th July. *B.Sc./M.Sc./Ph.D./M.D. students, or equivalent. SRF New Investigator Scientist: Invitation to present at SSR in Summer 2007Eligible authors (SRF members with less than 10 years in total of active post-doctoral research) wishing to be considered as the SRF New Investigator Scientist should submit a regular abstract on-line and also email their abstract accompanied by two letters of support (and an up-to-date CV) directly to the SRF Programme Secretary (h.Jabbour@hrsu.mrc.ac.uk) by 01 March 2006. Although applicants should submit a “regular” abstract on a defined piece of research, the successful candidate selected as the SRF New Investigator Scientist for 2006 will be invited to present a broader 35 min lecture on their programme of research (to be followed by 10mins of questions). More importantly, they will be invited to present their lecture at the SSR Annual Conference 2007 (in San Antonio in July 2007) with their registration and travel costs met by SRF and SSR. In addition, a prize will be awarded for the best poster presented at the conference. |
