Venue

After decades of uninterrupted growth, Ghent University is one of the leading institutions of higher education and research in the Low Countries.

The conference will be held in the “Aula Academica” which is considered the most important hall within the University. It was built in 1826 for graduation ceremonies and University celebrations and is dominated by its unique sculptured ceiling, which has been decorated with 128 different floral designs - a true work of art by the Ghent artist Bolle. This prestigious venue is centrally located and is easily accessible from all major hotels within the city centre.

A trade exhibition will run alongside the conference held in the “Peristilium” which is situated adjacent to the “Aula Academica.”

The lunches throughout the conference will be held in a medieval building in the city centre, called "Het Pand". This historic building translated as "The Premises", dates back as far as 1228 and was originally used as a Dominican Monastery.

Language

The Conference programme will be presented in English. The population of Belgium speak Dutch and French as their first language, however, English is widely spoken.
