Members may opt to become statutory members or non-statutory members.
Statutory members of the Society have the right to take part in elections
of Council Members and to attend and vote at General Meetings. They
are ineligible to apply for grants from the Society. Non-statutory members
cannot take part in elections of Council members. They can attend, but
not vote, at General Meetings. They are eligible to apply for grants
from the Society. All members can attend scientific meetings.
The ordinary subscription is £50 (US$90.00) per year. Registered
full-time post-graduate students are offered a reduced rate of £35
(US$65.00) per year. In addition it is possible to buy various journals
at reduced rates (full details will be advised when your subscription
is due).
Members taking advantage of reduced rate journal subscriptions will
be asked to sign declarations that such journals are for their own personal
use.
The proposer must be a Member of the Society.
The signature of one supporting member must also be obtained.
There is no entrance fee.
In the United Kingdom all subscriptions are eligible for income tax
deduction.
No payment is required with the application form. Upon election the
member will be advised when and how to pay.
