Prior to 2004, the Hammond Lecture was presented at the Society’s
winter meeting by an illustrious scientist, particularly recognised
for their contribution to the practical application of reproductive
research to agriculture. This award was established in 1980, by the
former Society for the Study of Fertility, as a memorial lecture
